Does this mean he likes me?

It was my prom last night and my best guy friend was there too. The night started off pretty normal but then I noticed he was looking at me all the time. I sat down at my table and noticed he was talking to his mate and they both kept looking over at me all the time. It got really annoying but I just pretended that I didnt notice. They didnt stop. Then it looked like his mate said ask her out and they looked at me again, but I'm not sure because obviously the music was loud. Then my guy friend shook his head. All night he was following me, like if I left the room he would follow and then when I came back in so would he. He kept walking towards me a few times but then would stop and just walk back to his seat. Then he came over to me and we were havin a laugh and I asked him what he was talking about to his mate and why they were looking at me all the time and his face dropped, honestly. He looked very nervous then and just said "stuff" and went back to his seat. Even one of the teachers picked up on this and told him to dance with me. I know that he used to like me like a year and a half ago but I havent heard anything about it since. Does this mean he likes me or have I just misinterprated the whole thing?
