Blood test done 10 days before period due and result of hvg level 2. what does this mean?

the doctor did a blood test as i was getting early signs just like i did in previous pregnancies however i have had 2 miscarriages in the ;ast few months so wanted to know early. she did the blood test but i said to her i thought it was too early for it to be detected. my period isnt even due untill 7th june... they got the results as hcg level 2.. and that means not pregnant but i thought not pregnant would be 0?
