How could I make a part to my cosplay?

I need to make a mask for one of my cosplays but I have no idea how to. The character's name is D-Roy Linker, he's from Tite Kubo's Bleach and he has a very large "mask" on his head. So please help me figure out how to do this, I need to know soon. Thank you so much.
