How many years does it take your liver to fail due to heavy drinking?

With an AST and ALT that high (though still in the normal range), you're well on the way to finding out, which is odd, because your self-reported level of drinking doesn't seem high. I know more than one person that's drunk at least a half a fifth of hard liquor for 10 years that aren't that high, so I'm not going to speculate or anything else other than recommend you lay it out on the line with your doctor and see why you are so high. It could have to do with anything from that's just your normal reading to some medication may have done something (especially if you take too many acetaminophen products). Just talk with your doc. >
