Roommate Almost Broke My Neck And Cops Won't Do Anything?

I have this roommate who almost broke my neck because he got pissed I went in his room and said you cannot park a car on my driveway and David starts grabbing me and shaking me and hurting me. So I call the cops and the cops did not do anything about it? what do i do?
